America’s Turning Point @ the Saratoga County Fair

Combine family fun at the fair with a visit to the Saratoga250 tent, where visitors can explore local Revolutionary War history through hands-on activities, including 18th-century toys and games, crafts, and America’s Turning Point augmented reality 3-D experiences featuring figures from Saratoga’s past.
Historical interpreters and reenactors will be on-site daily from 10 AM to 1 PM, demonstrating traditional trades and sharing stories that bring the Revolutionary era to life.

Join us daily in the Saratoga 250 Tent (look for the cannon just past the equine buildings) between 10 am and 1 pm for a living history experience and explore a variety of topics related to life during the American Revolution. Hands-on activities and historical displays are available throughout the week!
Tuesday
10am – 1pmExplore the importance of the printed word with a bookbinder. Find out how books were made at the time of the American Revolution.
Wednesday
10am – 1pmCalling all cannon enthusiasts!! Check out the Saratoga250 cannon and learn how it’s fired from the 2nd Continental Artillery Regiment.
Thursday
10am – 1pmCelebrate 250 years of American Independence! Listen to a public recitation of the Declaration of Independence as it was read aloud in July 1776.
Friday
10am – 1pmDiscover the sounds of the Revolution! Listen to common tunes of the era and discuss how musical tastes evolved.
Saturday
10am – 1pmWhat did the Continental Army wear and how was that different from the British Army? What about the local militias? Find out at the Saratoga250 tent!
Sunday
10am – 1pmWhat’s a milliner? Come check out the fashion trends for women during the American Revolution and see how they were made!
