A Candlelight Concert featuring Music of Knox’s Era

Join us for an unforgettable evening with the Musicians of Ma’alwyck, accompanied by soprano vocalist, Vedrana Kalas, featuring the music of Handel, Arne and other composers popular in 1770s colonial America. These harmonious delights will be punctuated by dramatic readings from diaries and letters that help tell the story of Henry Knox’s “Noble Train of Artillery,” delivered by living historians in 18th century attire. 
Free general admission tickets are required, complements of the Campaign for Saratoga 250’s generous Founding Donors and Saratoga County’s 250th Commission. Goodwill donations are welcomed!

    1770s popular music performed by award winning musicians.

    Dramatic passages read by living historians from historic letters and diaries during the 1775-76 Knox “Noble Train of Artillery.”

    The Musicians of Ma’alwyck are celebrating their 25th anniversary of bringing history to life through music. The musicians in residence at the Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site, they have performed in and produced music featured in short films, on two albums, and in collaboration with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, Glimmerglass Festival, Proctors Collaborative among others. 

    Vedrana Kalas recently performed as the soprano soloist accompanying the NYC Ballet and Orchestra in “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” at SPAC. A native of war torn Bosnia, Ms. Kalas emigrated as a teenager with her family to America. She graduated with honors from the esteemed Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam.

Honor Saratoga’s Revolutionary patriots and the heritage of their victory with the local Daughters & Sons of the American Revolution.

On behalf of the Town of Saratoga, the Village of Schuylerville, the Saratoga County 250th American Revolution Commission, and the Campaign for Saratoga 250, we are honored to host students and families of young children to participate in the annual Surrender Day Ceremony, marking the 249th anniversary of the American victory at the Battles of Saratoga.

Saratoga250 will have a presence at the Saratoga County Revolutionary Run for Veterans, a 5k run at Fort Hardy Park which benefits Saratoga County Veterans.

Step back in time at the Freeman’s Farm Anniversary Encampment at Saratoga National Historical Park. Experience living history demonstrations, reenactors, and programs that bring the pivotal events of 1777 to life.

September 12th – Stillwater Family Day. Join Saratoga250 at American Legion Post 490 for Revolutionary War trivia and a day of family fun!

Enjoy Saratoga250’s Siege Living History Weekend, a two-day event full of historical interpretation and activities.

Join us for an unforgettable evening listening to 18th century music by the Musicians of Ma’alwyck, accompanied by soprano vocalist, Vedrana Kalas and Featured Speaker, Military Historian & Author, Eric Schnitizer will intersperse first hand accounts of the major British surrender at Saratoga from a diverse set of perspectives.

On the 249th anniversary of the Surrender at Saratoga, explore the sites where history was made! Saratoga250 in partnership with Saratoga National Historical Park will have five sites open and staffed where you can learn about the event known as the Turning Point of the American Revolution!
