Experience Revolutionary history brought to life at the Bidwell House Museum. As part of The Army on Campaign II, visitors will have the chance to retrace General Henry Knox’s legendary route by walking a section of the historic “Great Road” through Monterey. This guided hike, led by the Bidwell House Museum, immerses participants in the very landscape Knox and his men traversed while transporting artillery during the winter of 1775–76.

Along the way, costumed interpreters and living history educators will share stories of life on campaign, the challenges of moving men and supplies, and the critical role this journey played in America’s fight for independence. Perfect for history enthusiasts, families, and outdoor adventurers alike, this event offers a rare opportunity to connect with both the natural beauty of the Berkshires and the dramatic events of the Revolution.
