October 17th Surrender Day Ceremony in Fort Hardy Park along the Hudson River, Route 29 Schuylerville. Join us to commemorate the 246th anniversary of the surrender of British General John Burgoyne to American General Horatio Gates, marking the turning point of the American Revolution. The ceremony will take place at 9:30am on the Field of Grounded Arms (Fort Hardy Park) and includes artillery firing, participation from local students and a recreation of the sword surrender. Please bring your own chair. This is an outdoor ceremony: in the event of inclement weather, the event will be canceled.

Siege Encampment

Saratoga National Historical Park

The Siege Encampment is part of NYS Path Through History Weekend. The Siege Encampment will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm October 7th and 8th. Activities include a variety of 18th century demonstrations from cannon and musket firings, to blacksmithing demonstrations, surgery, women’s healing, cooking, and other living historians.
