Join us to commemorate the 246th anniversary of the surrender of British General John Burgoyne to American General Horatio Gates, marking the turning point of the American Revolution. The ceremony will take place at 9:30am on the Field of Grounded Arms (Fort Hardy Park) and includes artillery firing, participation from local students and a recreation of the sword surrender. Please bring your own chair. This is an outdoor ceremony: in the event of inclement weather, the event will be canceled.
