Saratoga 250 Chair Lauren Roberts to be Featured at Smithsonian “Revolutionary Road Trips” Event with PBS’ Darley Newman

As part of efforts to promote the approaching 250th anniversary of the victory at the Battles of Saratoga, renewing awareness of its significance on a national scale is a priority. Saratoga County's 250th Commission Chair, County Historian Lauren Roberts, will be one of four panelists featured at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC on January 18, 2024.

The Smithsonian Associates and the national PBS destination show host, Darley Newman of “Travels with Darley,” are hosting an event featuring a panel discussion on significant Revolutionary War locales on January 18, 2024 at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. Saratoga 250 Commission Chair, County Historian Lauren Roberts, is one of four panelists and she will discuss the importance of Saratoga as America’s Turning Point in its War for Independence. Roberts will be featured along with the American Battlefield Trust President, Dave Duncan, and representatives from Virginia and New Jersey.

“Travels with Darley” visited Saratoga’s revolutionary sites and area hospitality locations in September 2023. As part of the January event, Darley Newman is revealing that her new season will include the first four of her “Revolutionary Road Trips” episodes.  An episode dedicated to Saratoga will be released during her upcoming season, likely airing in March 2024.
