Stand in the footsteps of history this October 17th , Surrender Day, at Fort Hardy Park. Head to the picturesque area directly fronting the Hudson River just off Route 29 in the Village of Schuylerville, NY.
This 247th anniversary of the British surrender at Saratoga continues to mark America’s Turning Point in its War for Independence. British General John Burgoyne’s agreement to ground their arms with American General Horatio Gates was the decisive turning point victory of the American Revolution securing France’s formal military alliance.
The Surrender Day Ceremony includes:
live cannon firing & military reenactors,
participation from local students,
historical stories, and
a recreation of the sword surrender.
Please bring your own chair. This is an outdoor ceremony, in the event of inclement weather, the event will be canceled.

Join us to recognize the Revolutionary War patriots laid to rest in Saratoga County. The County Historian's office secured grants through the William G. Pomeroy Foundation & the Sons of the American Revolution to install Patriot Burial Markers in front of cemeteries serving as the final resting place of America's first veterans.
The 3rd Annual Women in War Symposium returns to Saratoga County in 2024. Featuring noted authors & historians, the event will offer optional tours of the Saratoga Revolutionary heritage sites, compelling speaker panels, breakfast & lunch, plus time to enjoy the amenities Saratoga has to offer.

America's Turning Point will have a presence at the Saratoga County Revolutionary Run for Veterans, a 5k run which benefits Saratoga County Veterans. The event takes place at Fort Hardy Park in Schuylerville.
